I’m taking a break from this blog for a few weeks. We’ve got Easter coming and these two both have birthdays coming too. And of course after this kind of play, there’s a lot of laundry to do. I’ll be back in mid-April.
Happy Spring!

Happy Spring!
In the past few days my boy learned to ride a bike. On Sunday, he wanted to ride but only if I was holding on to the front and back of the bike. On Monday, he wanted me to get him started and keep holding the back of the bike. Yesterday, as he rolling along on the bike, without thinking he put his feet on the pedals and started to ride. I was walking beside him with his little sister. He looked over at me and said, “I didn’t know I could do that!”
When his sisters got home, he wanted to surprise them. They were excited and got their bikes out to ride with him.
When it was time for dinner he said, “Let’s go in for a little snack and come back out and RIDE!”
Today she started walking while holding my fingers. I’m enjoying the waning days of hands and knees.
Today was the St. Patrick’s Day parade.
The girls danced.
The boys watched.
The baby slept.
And we were exhausted by the end.
These two do this almost every night. My husband can barely get in the door before my boy has both sticks and the puck ready to go out in the street to play.
I’ve been chasing this photo of them playing for awhile. It was hard to get one that didn’t have cars in the background and had both of them in action. The light is what inspired me to pick up my camera and I love the way it outlines my boy.
I took out a few distractions in Lightroom. Here is the picture straight out of the camera.
I’m stunned that her first birthday is only a month away. It’s funny to think how long my oldest’s first year was and how short this little one’s has been. I think it’s because we’ve been on this trip before and we’re not we’re not wondering, “Are we there yet?”
For us, the month of March is a month of Irish dance. The past two Saturdays we’ve been at Irish festivals where she performed with her dance school. Next Saturday is the St. Patrick’s day parade, which is how Savanna got interested in Irish dance when she was just three.
As I wrote last year, following her interest in Irish dance has been surprising. I never imagined my girl in a wig and make up at nine. But here we are. She loves performing. She shines when she takes the stage.
This was the first well lit dance venue ever. I was thrilled and have hundreds of photos (not all of Savanna!) and even an video as a result. (I don’t know how to edit video yet. It’s straight out of the camera.)
I’ve written about haircuts here a couple of times. My boy’s hair is getting long again, but he’s not interested in having it cut. He pulls it out of his eyes with his hands and says, “I can see!”
