Our street’s newest resident made an appearance this evening.
He was well received.

Today was the first day of school for Avery and Savanna.
Augusta followed their lead and got ready for school too. I almost titled this post, “Can I Come?” but that is not what Augusta said. She said, “I’m coming.”
“You might not know what “Bee bo!” means. Or maybe you’ve forgotten. It’s just the tiny hippo way of saying…
Belly Button!”
From the Belly Button Book by our beloved Sandra Boynton.
Atticus loves babies. Little babies are his favorite. Toddlers are too big. When Willow moved on to our street, he spent a few minutes sizing her up to decide if she was a baby or a too big toddler.
The verdict: she was small enough to fit in his baby love.
For the second time this year, we took the kids to the Idlewild (Voted Best Kids’ Park in the WORLD!)
There were many, many fun and exciting moments.
This visit I also took some time to photograph some of the in between times that make up a big part (most) of the day.
Mostly there is deciding what to do next.
And then waiting to do it.
Take the leap. Get some air. Feet off the ground.
That’s what it’s all about in this month’s For the Love blog circle post. Jump around the whole circle of posts by following the link at the end of this post.

I’m working to perfect the art of photographing the classic baby toss. These are my best so far. I hardly ever – really never – set my camera to use all the focus points – but this time it worked for me.
We’re squeezing a few days in at the pool even though it’s not perfect pool weather. Today was just barely warm enough.
Yes. I part of me wishes that he was wearing a solid shirt or none at all so this photo wasn’t also a portrait of Lightning McQueen. But, the other part of me recognizes that he loves his Cars swim suit and wears it almost every time we go to the pool.
I had a shirt as a kid that said, “Eat Your Heart Out.” There were kittens and it was a little fuzzy. (That’s the way I remember it anyway.) I loved that shirt. It would be fun to see a photo of my eight year old self wearing it.
So, sometimes I put on things that I think will be good in a photo. Most of the time they dress themselves.
My parents took me and my boy to a Pirates game Friday night.
On the way in they bought him the flag. He waved it at every opportunity.
During the game he asked, “What is the pink stuff that man is carrying?” His grandpa bought him some. (His was purple.) He said, “It’s better than M&M’s.”
Of course, there were peanuts too.
He got everything he asked for and the Pirates won the game to boot. (Something they’ve been doing a lot more than we’re used to.)
