17: In a Few Minutes

He didn’t want to eat dinner.  He said it was stinky.  I took him to bed.  That was around 6:30.  An hour later he was still awake.  I asked him why.  “Because of being so hungry!”  I let him come back down and eat his stinky dinner.I made a shower schedule for the girls.  They shower on alternate nights now.  While one sister is in the shower, the other one reads to the sister in the shower.  Tonight Avery read the story of David and Goliath to Savanna.

16: Making it Work

Atticus wants to paint every day.  Today he was painting a bird feeder he made. This weekend I decided to change my Pogo Project a little.  I’m taking the weekends off.  It’s nice to let the computer go quiet for a few days.

I enjoy the search for something that pushes me to keep creating but doesn’t push so hard I want to quit.

15: Running Around with the King Family

I met Wendy at a La Leche League meeting when we were mothers of babies who did little more than nurse.  We could sit around together and talk while our babies played on the floor beside us.  Could those babies really be almost ten years old now?

Wendy has been a great supporter of my photography.  I was thrilled when she called and asked me to do family photos for them.  I knew it would be an action packed session (my favorite kind!)

If you follow this blog you know how much I love a pan.  When Wendy asked if I could do one of MJ running, I was more than happy to give it a try.  (I can’t guarantee I’ll get a good pan.) MJ was the real reason for this session.  Isn’t she beautiful?

Like I said, I knew it would be an action packed good time.

14: A Couple Minutes with the Boy

We had a little rest together today.  We talked about bricks, concrete and plaster.  When we got up the light coming in the window inspired me to get my camera.

Cheese!

Sometimes I forget to take pictures like this.  Just plain old pictures of the kids’ faces.  I’m glad I took the time to do it today.

13: In the Bath

f/2.8: 1/250: ISO 200: 50mm + bounced flashI love, love, love bath photos.  This morning when I was finishing my shower, Augusta wanted to climb in.

She loved the feeling of the water on her hands.

f/2.5: 1/250: ISO 200: 50mm + bounced flashYesterday it was feet.  Today it is hands.

About the photos: Those little droplets of water are captured with the flash.  Because the walls in our bathroom are light and the room is small, bouncing the flash works well in there.  The green-blue color is from bouncing the flash off the green-blue walls of the bathroom.

9: Play Date

f/2.0: 1/250: ISO 400: 50mmAhhhhh. The busy holiday weekends are over. Today both girls had time to play with friends. Avery’s friend, Sophia, spent the afternoon with us. They giggled away the afternoon.
